The first will provide a historical overview of time measurement using the various means that clocks have been developed over the millennium, from the earliest sun dials to the modern atomic clocks, including locations such as Greenwich and nomenclature such as UTC, GMT, Zulu will be presented. The second part will describe the aspects of time and date recording in amateur radio QSLing.

After Andrew’s presentation we will will have our usual “round table” discussion of the hobby where everyone gets a chance to “show and tell”.  If you have projects or questions, bring them to the meeting. New hams are welcome and encouraged to participate!

Beverages and munchies will be there for all.

March: This meeting is traditionally Old Timers Day.  If you’ve renewed your license two (2) times, then consider yourself a bonafide Old Timer.  Come prepared to share your stories of operating in the pre-SMT days.  Bring a piece of antique equipment for Show ‘n Tell.  We will be making an attempt to put up a working HF “boatanchor” station from the days of tubes, antenna relays, pi-network antenna coupling, and light bulbs for dummy loads!

April: This month it’s the New Timers turn!  If you are a newly minted ham or have not yet renewed your license, or even if you left the hobby and recently returned, then you are a New Timer.  Come share your experiences, your successes, your frustrations, and bring your questions.  If you are having trouble programming a radio, or wondering what it can or can’t do, this is your forum! Tell us how we might help you get more out of the hobby. .

Of coarse, there will be coffee, munchies and beverages too!
